EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT STAFF PROGRAM AND INFORMATION

The Office of Emergency Management relies on a group of dedicated professionals, who come from many different disciplines. We are always looking for dedicated people to fill our many volunteer positions. We currently operate the community emergency operations center, which is responsible for coordinating all major events and emergencies in our community. We maintain the Special Operations/Agency Support Unit which responds to hazardous materials incidents, search and rescue missions, large scale emergencies and other incidents at the request of the incident commander. We also maintain a robust public education, preparedness and planning program. If you are interested in supporting our programs please feel free to contact us, we offer regular training opportunities including regular staff meetings. Some staff members are selected to attend national training programs in Las Vegas, Anniston, Alabama, Socorro, New Mexico, and other locations around the country (all expenses paid). We also train and certify staff in Hazardous Materials Response, Search and Rescue Management, Incident Management, and Emergency Operations Center management. Everyone interested in joining our program must undergo an in-depth background check, must have at least three independent references, and must be interviewed by the EM Membership Committee. Not everyone who applies is selected to participate, due to the critical nature of our program we must be selective of our personnel. Most members must be capable of obtaining Government Security Clearances.

Our staff meetings are scheduled every two weeks, they are not open to the public, however once we recieve your application we will contact you to invite you to a meeting.
